| Windows Compatibility -
The EFS-1 software was designed for (and tested extensively with) the Windows 98 Operating System. The subject of Windows compatibility is discussed in this section. Two Components of Compatibility - There are two aspects to the compatibility of EFS-1 with the various Windows Operating Systems:
1) Application compatibility. The EFS-1 software is a standard 32-bit Windows Applications that will run on any version of Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, or 2000. In the case of Windows ME, WIA (Windows Imaging Architecture) is not supported. The EFS-1 software will install and the UI will run on any Windows version 95 or later. The next issue is device connectivity. Will the EFS-1 software be able to communicate with the EFS-1 hardware. 2) Device-level compatibility. The ability of the UI to communicate with the EFS-1 hardware depends upon the inherent Windows Operating System capabilities as well as the EFS-1device drivers. EFS-1 device drivers have been demonstrated and tested to be fully compatible with Windows 98 and Windows ME. EFS-1 device drivers has been demonstrated to be partially compatible with Windows 95, Windows NT, and Windows 2000. The following table will clarify some of the compatibility issues. |
