Occasionally digital images may appear to be too dark. It is possible, especially for new users of digital imaging devices that images appear too dark on their computer monitor. This also occurs when images are viewed, perhaps temporarily on a different computer. The EFS-1 User Interface/Data Source includes a gray bar in the lower left hand corner of the workspace window to help determine if your monitor needs to be calibrated. |

| (The same grayscale with each gradient labeled.) | |||||||||||||||||||
|
You should be able to decipher most of the 21 individual shades (gradients) of gray in this bar. Often users will find that the darker shades (those to the left) are not discernable. If more than three of the twenty-one shades are indistinguishable, it is recommended that you calibrate your monitor. If calibration equipment is not available, you may adjust the contrast and brightness of your monitor to improve the appearance of your images. |
