1. Downloading Images from Your Camera
  • Please install the camera Driver and MagicManager Software before downloading the still images from your camera. To download still images from your camera to PC, use the "Acquire" function within MagicManager.
  • Step Action Description
    1. Click on the "Image" Category Tab This action selects the "Image" category, which is relevant to digital still images (pictures) you have taken (captured) with your camera.
    2. Select a Folder You are specifying the folder (photo album) in which you will be placing your new images.
    3. Click on File, Select Source, "Digital Camera" There may be several imaging devices already installed on your computer. Any device that is "Twain" compliant will appear on the list of devices. For now, select "Multi-Mode Plus Camera".
    4. Click on File, Acquire This will invoke the Twain-driver User Interface. During the installation of the camera software there was a step called "Install Camera Driver." Make sure the camera driver software is installed before running this step. The next screen you see will be part of the camera driver software.
    5. Click on the images you wish to download to your computer. The small images you see are called "thumbnails." Select those images you wish to transfer from your camera to your computer and click on the "Download" button. Note: If you wish to select every image click on "Select All"

    2. The Twain User Interface (UI)
    Your camera uses what is called a Twain interface. This is a small piece of software that serves as an intermediary between the camera and the Magic Manager Application.

    You may actually use your camera with any Twain software you may already own, or have installed on your PC. You will always see this UI when you use your camera - even with other Twain APs.

    The small images you see are called "thumbnails." Select those images you wish to transfer from your camera to your computer and click on the "Download" button.
    If you wish to select every thumbnail image click on "Select All"
    If you have selected some images, but have changed your mind click on "Deselect All" to select no images.
    To Exit and close the UI screen click on the "Exit" button.
    To Delete some or all of the images on your camera, click on the "Control" button. (See detail.)
    The "Setup" button allows you to adjust camera connection and image-color parameters. (See following detail)
    To delete all Images stored on the camera CF Memory Card, check the "All Pictures" button, and then click on the "Erase" Button.

    To delete only the last Image, check the "Last Picture" button, then "Erase."

    The Setup dialog box allows you to adjust various image settings.

    3. Adding New Items from Disk
    Step Action Description
    1. Click on the "Image" Category Tab This action selects the "Image" category, as your current choice of media.
    2. Click on "File", "New Folder" You are creating a new folder (photo album) in which you will be placing your new images.
    3. Click on "File", "Add Item" The "Add Item" dialog box opens.
    4. Select the files to be added into the current folder. The files are displayed with their thumbnails in the workspace.

    4. Printing Images

    There are two print functions. You may print a single image, or you may print all the thumbnails in a folder.

    a) Printing a Single Image -
    Step Action Description
    1. Select a folder. Then select an image you wish to print. This action selects one image to be printed.
    2. Click on "File", "Print Photo" The "Print Photo" dialog box will appear.
    3. In the "Print Photo" dialog box:

    (i) Select the printer to be used to print the selected image.
    (ii) Check one of the Ratio-Size boxes in "Print Range" field to specify the final size of the printout.  
    (iii) Click on "OK" to begin printing.

    In this step you specify the printer, print size, and number of copies to be printed.
    b) Index Print -

    An Index print is a print of all the thumbnails of the images in a selected folder, like a proof sheet or an index page of all images in the selected folder. 

    Step Action Description
    1. Select a folder for which you would like an index print. The folder will open.
    2. Click on "File", "Print Index" The print process will begin.

    5. Rotating Images

    You can rotate a selected images 90 degrees clockwise by clicking on "Edit", and then "Rotate".


    6. Selecting an Image as Wallpaper

    To select an image to be placed in the center of the desktop screen of your computer (known as wallpaper), select the image and click on "View", and then "Wallpaper"
