MagicManager allows you to organize and manages video clips in the Video category. The video clips come from your own camera (using it's PC video mode) or from disk. Perhaps you may have downloaded video clips from the Internet.

To view video clips, you can specify a video player for video playback. There are many types and formats of video (AVI, MPG, MOV, ASF, RA, etc). Magic Manager only supports video in the AVI files format in the Video category.

To work with video clips, we assume that you has opened  the Video category, by clicking the Video tab on Folder views, before processing the following tasks.

1. Acquiring Video from Your Camera

Step Action Description
1. Click on the "Video" Category Tab This action selects the "Video" category, which is relevant to live (real-time), or recorded video clips you have taken with your camera in it's video mode.
2. Select a Folder You are specifying the folder (album) in which you will be placing your new videos.
3. Click on Tools, "Video Capturer" First, make sure the camera power switch is in the "OFF" position and the camera is connected to your PC via USB. (Click here for: Instructions for connecting to your PC by USB.) Clicking on "Video Capturer" will launch another program, called Video Capturer. Video Capturer is a program within MagicManager that allows you to connect your camera in a video mode. .
4. Aim and adjust your camera. When you are ready to record a video clip, Click the "Record" Button. During the installation of the camera software there was a step called "Install Camera Driver." The driver allows your camera to provide a live video feed to Video Capturer.
5. Click on "Save" to save your video clip. If you would like to save the video clip you have just recorded click on "Save."

2. Playing a Video Clip

Double-clicking on any video icon will invokes an application to play it. By default, MagicManager calls the default application associated with AVI extension. You may change this association by clicking on "Tools", "Options" -- to open the Options dialog box. In this dialog box you may to change the applications used to open the specified file types.
